CANOING - KAYAKING - TUBING

For friends and family, church and scout groups, beginners and experts alike, all will enjoy the Caddo. The river has several really good swimming holes, and places to fish along the way, but Class I and II rapids are frequent and help do much of the "paddling" for you. In the late summer you may have to do more of the paddling yourself, but generally the Caddo stays a pretty good float, and in fact it's one of the most consistent floating rivers in Arkansas.

Kayaks grow more and more popular every year.  The kids in particular enjoy this option!
In fact, compared to a canoe, they are much easier to handle!

For those that just want to get wet and and soak up the sun for a more relaxing float  - come grab a tube!

                           Recommended Float TripsNeed a Map?

7.5 Mile Float - From the "Narrows" to Glenwood (most popular)

16 Mile Float - From Norman to Glenwood (if the water is up)

8.5 Mile Float - From Glenwood to Amity 182 Bridge

There are several other float options available depending on the river level and time of year.  The tube floats are also shorter than the above mentioned, but if you're wanting anything from a short "dip in the water" to a several day float trip, just give us a call, and we'll set you up for the best float on the Caddo!

We open at 8:00am 7 days a week, or earlier on request if you're those fisherman or floating fanatic type who just needs to get a jump on the day!

River Level

So if the river's at "6.5" feet...

 ...what does that mean?

To check the current river level at the Hwy 240 Bridge at Caddo Gap, please click on the following link:

U.S. Geological Survey Caddo River Gauge Link

Gauge height in feet:

Low:        5.40 - 5.75
Some rocks at 5.75 to start having to get around,
great range for inexperienced boaters though.

                 Anything in this range
is still floatable, but pack light!

Medium:  5.75 - 7.25
Great floating, few rocks, more boat control (BEST RANGE)

Higher:    7.25 - 8.75
A fast-paced float for experienced boaters with almost every
                 rapid washed out above 7.50

Flood:      8.75 or greater
At 8.50 feet the river is starting to spread into flood plain and running
through dense strainers.  Cross currents become powerful.
Correct route is most important.  No rentals go out at this level.
